根据官方设定杨瀚森的模板是武切维奇，雅虎方面对杨有着如下评价：“杨是一位身高7英尺（2.13米）的中国球员，拥有老派的得分技巧，传球出色且篮板球不错，但他脚步缓慢、射程不足的缺点能否得到改善将决定他是否会留在职业赛场。对于雷霆这支没有什么特殊需要的球队来说，将他纳入培养体系中是合理的。”
